You Don’t Have to Carry This Alone
Whether your abortion was recent or happened some time ago, or you are a partner trying to support someone who has been through it, the emotions that follow can be complicated. Some women feel relief. Others experience sadness, regret, anxiety, or anger. Many feel something that lacks a name.
Our team is here to listen at a pace that works for you.
Everyone Responds Differently
No two women experience abortion the same way. Some feel settled afterward. For others, emotions surface later, and often when least expected. This can be especially true for those with a history of anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges. For some, feelings come and go over time without a clear pattern.
There is no “correct” way to process what you are feeling. What matters is giving yourself space to notice your emotions and seek support when you need it.
Taking Care of Yourself
If you are not sure where to begin, some women find it helpful to:
- Write down what they are thinking or feeling, even without a clear direction
- Spend time with people they trust
- Return to routines that feel grounding, such as getting outside, resting, and doing things that bring some steadiness back
- Talk with a counselor or trained support person
- Connect with others through a support group
How We Can Help
The Pregnancy Center of Coshocton offers confidential support for both women and men, including partners who may also be processing the experience in their own way. Support may include:
- A private, one-on-one conversation with a member of our team
- A structured support program for processing your experience, offered in both faith-based and secular options
- A referral to licensed counseling or community mental health services
You do not need to have the right words before you reach out. You can come in with questions, with nothing to say at all, or simply needing somewhere to land.
